At 50, I was deep into my career in parks and recreation, managing the transition as a mom of adult children (and now grandchildren!), and feeling a little introspective. I was happy, but wondering what else life would offer me, who else I was meant to be, and what my next phase of life would hold. Maybe you can relate?

I took a restorative yoga class and fell in love with the calming, healing aspects of gentle and restorative yoga. It was exactly what my tired, stressed out body needed.

I completed a 200-hour basic yoga teacher training, then rolled into a 300-hour diversified teacher training which showed me that yoga can be much more than a traditional asana class. I was excited to learn that with pose options and props like blocks, bolsters, chairs, walls, straps, balls and blankets, yoga can be accessible for all and for every BODY. I learned that therapeutic yoga can offer healing and relief from so many somatic, social, emotional, and energetic challenges, so today, I’m a practicing yoga therapist working to complete certification in that specialty.

As a yoga therapist, I have completed an additional 400-hours of specialized training in:

  • Functional yoga

  • Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy

  • Meditation

  • Yoga of Recovery

  • Yoga for Grief

  • Yoga for Anxiety, Depression and Trauma

  • Yoga Across the Cancer Care Continuum

  • The Chakras and Healing

  • Yoga of Stress Resilience

  • Yoga and Menopause Care

  • Yoga for Arthritis

  • and recently received Pain Care Aware certification

I have an affinity for the beauty and calming aspects of the mind-body-breath connection of yoga, especially restorative yoga, gentle movement, and yoga Nidra, and how we can apply these to help heal our minds, bodies, and souls.

I believe yoga is for every body and that wellness is a journey and a birthright. I have a passion for creating accessible, empowering experiences for people to help them heal.

I meet students where they are when they step onto the mat, and provide options and support at all levels.

So now I know what else life has to offer me and maybe I can help you find that place too!
